JEAN-PIERRE GRANDET, Accessoiriste effets spéciaux

When I am being commissioned something, what I like is to twist it, to play with it. I'm like a child who wouldn't play with toys but with pebbles!

What verb would you use to define your job?

Listening is what I do.

Why do you do this job?

For fun. Also because it changes all the time. It involves meeting very different people. It is a sort of human adventure. I like the DIY side of it. The inventiveness. Because, once I have listened, I have to bring answers, solutions.

If you were to chose a movie that brings back memories, what would it be?

My thing would rather be... sculpture. The mechanical sculptures by Tinguely. Or Calder. This is what amused me the most when I attended Ecole Boulle (a Parisian School of Applied Arts). I trained as an interior designer, and also learn furniture making. That's how I learned the relationship with material and craftsmanship. What I do is mixing art and crafts. The listening is the artistic part. The answering, the crafts part.
