FÉLOCHE, Musicien

Is Féloche completely wacko? Not really. Between the lines, his bittersweet songs are far away from an academic vision, like his extraordinary life. From ukrainian punk to electro Cajun, his mandolin in his hand (his favourite instrument), Féloche has found the good sense of folk-blues before electricity.

Is Féloche a fairy ? Sometimes, when you listen to his jingles which smell like Cajun cooking. On this first album, the French singer reinvests the Louisiana bayou, giving a Parisian twist to his songs. The cello sounds spicy, lyrics are autobiographical but dreamy at the same time, a techno waltz follows a psycho-Slav- punk  song... with Dr. John, the wizard as a special guest, an important inspiration of this "Vie Cajun" album.

Why do you make music?

I can not imagine my life without music. Neither my music without my life indeed! I think about music every day. I need to express certain obsessions. I need to express certain obsessions and do it through music. There are things I must dig. I try to dig the rhythms, rhythms in different rhythms...

A word to define your job?

I could say "digging" but it's not very nice. "Searching" would be more appropriate. And having fun as well! Because it's all it is about, in the first place, really. We "play" music, that's what we do. It is important to keep that in mind. Playing is the only way to make it work. In other terms, "searching" is not the proper term, "playing" is what I really do.
