HARRIS SAVIDES, Directeur de la Photographie

Harris Savides, born in New York in 1947, reached notoriety when, as photography director, he collaborated on the Gus Van Sant trilogy: Gerry, Elephant and Last Days. He has been noticed for his amazing work on the movies The Yards and Birth, with a technique where he under exposed the film and transformed the colors, blacks acquiring a strange purple and brownish shade. His unconventional approach to colour involuntarily recalls the light in paintings by De La Tour and Le Caravaggio.

Savides also worked on two films directed by David Fincher and mostly shot with a digital camera: The Game and Zodiac. Pixies asked Harris Savides and Paolo Roversi to join forces and create the photography of the Idylle advert.
